Who is BhikuMhatre aka MumbaichaDon? X user arrested by Karnataka Police for posting against Congress manifesto

A user named Nagesh Naik took to his X handle and informed that his father whose X profile is under the name of 'BhikuMhatre' has been arrested by Karnataka Police.

At a time when the I.N.D.I.A block is accusing PM Modi-led BJP government of imposing dictatorship in India, Karnataka Police on Saturday arrested a social media user for posting against Congress' manifesto. A user named Nagesh Naik took to his X handle and informed that his father whose X profile is under the name of 'BhikuMhatre' has been arrested by Karnataka Police. As per reports, 'X user BhikuMhatre has been arrested for pointing out 'Muslims' in Congress' Lok Sabha Election manifesto. As per Nagesh, BhikuMhatre (@MumbaichaDon) was arrested from Ponda, Goa. 

Nagesh Naik took to his X handle and wrote, "My father @MumbaichaDon has been arrested by @DgpKarnataka @CPBlr @BlrCityPolice. A mail was sent by TWITTER and suddenly in the evening the Police showed up at the doorstep and took away my father! FIR is totally NOT pertinent! #ReleaseBhikuMhatre."

As per the mail shared by Nagesh, his father BhikuMhatre in his 'deleted' post wrote, "Throw this in the face of every liberal & every pi**i who is arguing that CONgress manifesto doesn't include Mu$..specifically and it includes SC/STs also.."

Talking about who is BhikuMhatre, the real name of the social media user has not been revealed. However, BhikuMhatre (@MumbaichaDon) is known for posting his anti-Congress content. BhikuMhatre enjoys a massive following of 151.9K followers. For those who are unaware, BhikuMhatre is a fictional name. The character of BhikuMhatre was played by Bollywood actor Manoj Bajypayee in the movie Satya. 

BhikuMhatre aka MumbaichaDon arrest came after a Bengaluru resident and Congress worker filed a complaint with the cybercrime police on April 29. The police then registered a case against the X user under section 153(a) of the Indian Penal Code and 66(c) of the Information Technology Act. Shortly before his arrest, BhikuMhatre also posted a notice issued to him by X after it received a court order by the Magistrate Bengaluru City regarding his X account ‘@MumbaichaDon’.

After BhikuMhatre aka MumbaichaDon's arrest, BJP MP Tejasvi Surya reacted to it and called his nabbing as 'blatant abuse of power' by the Karnataka Congress government. “We will fight this, both inside courts and outside,” he said. Not only this, Union Minister Smriti Irani also informed that she spoke to Tesjasvi Surya regarding the case, and the BJP has assured legal support to the arrested social media user.
